Whiteways

Whiteways where on your return refreshments are available in the café. Cafe The route is easy to follow the walk is fairly gentle so (suitable for all ages.) There are some stunning views to the north and to the south where the route passes through open countryside.

 Length - 7km (4.25mls) Time - 1.5hr      Start Point - TQ002 108  OS Map  Explorer 121  Arundel & Pulborough The route - From the northern end of the car park turn L and follow the bridleway keeping the wood on your left. After approx 300m the bridleway turns R still following the wood. At the edge of the wood continue across a field along the bridleway until you meet a fingerpost  where you join The South Downs Way. Continue along this track for approx  1.8km, you go quite steeply down hill and near a barn you  meet  a crossroads with a choice of directions. Take the first bridleway L along the hedge and continue uphill through a field. Pass through the gate and turn L onto a bridleway and follow this across a field into a wood. The track bears left uphill through the woods, stay on this bridleway until you meet another bridleway at a more open and grassy track, turn L this is The Monarchs Way. Here you are on “The Denture” which was an ancient name for a boundary dividing land between different owners. Follow this for approx  1.2km where you will come to a junction. Continue L along the Monarchs Way down hill and through the wood. This path will eventually bring you out in the car park, after approx 1.7km.
